Nyla Levy is an Actor, Writer and Theatre Maker.
Nyla is currently co-producing a UK tour of Does My Bomb Look Big in This? with Tamasha with support from Arts Council England, and AMAL foundation. The tour includes Tara Arts, Soho Theatre, Luton & Reading.
Nyla has worked with companies such as BBC, Complicite, Lyric Hammersmith, Tamasha, Tara Arts and Cardboards Citizens.
Venues she has performed at include Battersea Arts Centry, Theatre 503, The Lowry, Hackney Empire, Nottingham Playhouse, The Finborough, The Bush and New Diorama Theatre.
Nyla wrote her first play Normal with a bit of OOMPH! A verbatim/ documentary style piece exploring female body image, which debuted as a Rehearsed Reading at RichMix in Feb 2016.
Nyla was selected in 2016 by the Lyric Hammersmith to join their programme for young writers - Development Lab - where she began developing Does My Bomb Look Big In This? Here she formed the writing collective U C*NT SIT WIV US, which is made up of Naomi Joseph, Julienne Orcullo and Joana Nastari.
Nyla is also co-Artistic Director of Two's Company, who were one of the New Diorama Theatre's Emerging Companies 2016/17. With Two's Company, Nyla co-wrote and performed in Different is Dangerous, a verbatim piece about the Asian community in Leeds which has toured the UK from 2015-16.
Nyla is experienced in Verbatim Theatre, Headphone Verbatim, Theatre in Education, Forum Theatre, Radio Drama, Short Film, Roleplay Film, Roleplay, Fringe, Directing, Producing and Small scale touring.
